Take Back Your Yard From Ticks

Deer ticks are part of life on Cape Cod, and they don't stay in the woods. They wait in the tall grass, leaf litter, and shady beds along the edge of your lawn.

Licensed applicators treat those edges and the grass where ticks live, timed to when they're most active.

  • Five treatment rounds, spring through fall
  • Perimeter and lawn applications, timed to tick activity
  • Book it on its own or add it to your lawn program

Where Ticks Wait

We Treat the Places Ticks Actually Live

Ticks don't jump or fly. They climb onto tall grass and low brush in damp, shady spots and wait for something to brush past. That's where treatment does the most good.

The Lawn Edge

The strip of roughly three feet where your lawn meets the trees. It's where most tick run-ins start.

Shrub Beds

Shady, overgrown beds hold the humidity ticks need, especially beds close to the house or where kids play.

Leaf Litter & Tall Grass

Leaf piles and unmowed grass trap moisture and make near-perfect tick habitat, right at ground level.

The Treatment Season

Five Rounds, Spring Through Fall

On the Cape, ticks are busiest from spring into fall and peak between May and August. Five rounds, spaced about four weeks apart, keep your yard covered the whole time, not just at the start of the season.

  1. Round 1

    Spring

    Early – mid May

Goes down as deer ticks wake up. Nymphs are tiny and easy to miss, so the first round matters most.

  2. Round 2

    Late Spring

    Early – mid June

Keeps coverage in place as nymph activity builds toward its peak.

  3. Round 3

    Early Summer

    Early – mid July

Peak tick season on the Cape runs May through August.

  4. Round 4

    Late Summer

    Early – mid August

Ticks stay active all summer, so coverage continues through the hottest months.

  5. Round 5

    Fall

    Late September – mid October

Adult deer ticks become active again as the weather cools. The fall round covers them.

Treatments are a tool, not a cure-all. A well-kept yard will always outwork a spray program on a neglected one.

Beyond the Spray

Make Your Yard Less Tick-Friendly

Treatment works best on a yard that doesn't give ticks places to hide. Our crews can help with that too.

  • Regular mowing keeps grass at three inches or under, so the lawn stays dry and sunny.
  • Spring and fall cleanups clear the leaf litter and brush ticks shelter in.
  • A wood chip buffer strip along the tree line creates a dry band ticks tend not to cross.
  • Deer-resistant plantings draw fewer of the deer that carry ticks into your yard.

Yes. Tick control can be booked by itself, or added to our fertilization program if you're already on it.
No treatment does that on a wooded Cape property. It cuts tick numbers where your family spends time, and works best alongside regular mowing, cleared leaf litter, and a buffer along the woods. Our guide to protecting your yard from ticks covers the rest.
